1. AHEAD OF THE GOLDEN JUBILEE GRAND FINALE

Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine of Siena, Gusau Nigeria (1973 -2023), Golden Jubilee Celebration Grand Finale loading 99.99%. The opening Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Anthony Achebe, CMF at the Queen of Peace Chapel in the Mother House on the 31st of August, 2023 by 9.00 a.m. The Holy Mass of the Holy Spirit was followed by the Golden Jubilee Lecture delivered by Rev. Fr. Felix Udolisa, O.P. on the theme: 'Celebrating God's Faithfulness and Love Through Active Participation In His Preaching Mission." 2. SUCCESSFUL SECOND BATCH ANNUAL RETREAT

We thank God for a grace-filled Annual Retreat directed by Fr. Anthony Achebe,  CMF. The Retreat began on the 24th of August and ended on the 30th of August, 2023. It took place at Queen of Peace Chapel in the Mother House at Gusau, Zamfara State. About forty Sisters were in attendance. He reminded the Sisters that faithfulness to the life of evangelical counsels, healthy Community life and effective apostolic service demands a constant deliberate commitment. 3. REGIONAL GOLDEN JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS WERE SUCCESSFUL

Ahead of the grand finale of our Golden Jubilee Ceremony, the regional celebration took place successfully as follows: Abuja: August 12, 2023 Jos: August 8, 2023 Makurdi: August 8, 2023 Agbor: August 5, 2023 Funtua: July 29, 2023 Malumfashi: July 22, 2023 Sokoto: July 1, 2023 Significant across the celebrations were the offering of Mass of Thanksgiving, cutting the Jubilee cake and fundraising for the proposed Jubilee project. The Bishop of Makurdi Diocese, Most Rev. Wilfred Chikpa Anagbe, CMF, Priests, Religious, and Lay faithful gathered on the 19th of April 2022 for this noble ceremony which took place at Dominican Sisters Novitiate, Yakyor, Benue state.During the homily, the Bishop stressed the importance of the first step of everything or mission. He said it is more important than the last because, without making the First Profession, there will be no Final Profession; just as without the Sacrament of Baptism, one cannot receive other sacraments in the Church. Our 5th General Chapter and Elections began earnestly on Monday, 2nd Sept, 2013.
